Adventure Tourism
Adventure tourism also referred to as commercial recreation, or nature-based tourism is a kind of tourism that involves experiencing the natural environment through several guided outdoor activities. It is outdoor recreational activity which is offered on a fee-for-service basis with more focus on the experience that is associated with the natural environment. For many years now crown land has been used for adventure tourism except for commercial hunting, ski guiding as well as fishing activities. There was no policy that was in place to regulated commercial recreation until 1998.
The policy that is in place now that controls adventure tourism covers all the areas including sea kayaking, cross country skiing, heli-hiking, river rafting, nature viewing, off road cycling and horse pack trips. If you want to have the most memorable tour you have to think of adventure tourism because you will explore some of the most exciting sites and places that will be memorable for years to come.
